Yamaha Surround Sound
When my husband recently brought home the Yamaha surround sound, I was expecting a lot more speakers. Every other surround sound system that we have had had speakers for next to the television and more for the walls behind the couch so that you really felt like you were part of the show. I was not expecting the same kind of quality from this one when he brought it home-- it only had one speaker!! Where was I going to put that to make it sound like being in the movies?
The Yamaha surround sound system was sleek looking in it's black finish, but there were only three components. The remote, the receiver and the sound board. I liked that it was small in size and would easily be able to slide under the small space that I had under the television without moving anything.
Once I turned the Yamaha surround sound system on, I was blown away. There are so many channels for different things that it made me feel like I was sitting in the stadium with my husband while we watched the big Dolphins game. The stations available for music are fantastic. It's concert sound all the time. The feature that I like best is that when you are watching television, you never have to deal with the commercials jumping up and down because the sound is always consistent with whatever it is that you are watching. I don't have to worry about my stories waking up the baby while he naps any longer.
The price that we paid for the Yamaha surround sound was decent for what we got. Although I still think that we could use more speakers to truly make it a home theater, five hundred dollars was about what we were looking to pay for any home theater. We made a steal with this one. It works better than I imagined for something so small. We considered purchasing a Sony but when we went to the store to check it out, there really wasn't anything good about the set up. Overall, I am very pleased with the Yamaha surround sound and wouldn't purchase anything else had I the chance to do it again.
